normally 80ft of 11mm on a lowline, 100ft will go on a large drum Goldfish
so 8274 front then? we normally run 125ft of 12mm on ext drums on 8274s. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

dont forget the thicker the rope the larger the min bend rad! so in fact a smaller dia rope is better at acute pulls! Cheers

What is the difference in min radius bend between a 10mm and 12mm rope? Is it not 3 times the diameter on a fixed pin and 8 times diameter on a sheave.
so 6mm difference between 10mm and 12mm on a fixed pin. Original Member Pie n Pea Club. 110 HCPU Tipper |

off roaders gen to work on 7x factor for teaching etc. its not so much the difference at the ideal bend radius, more so the fact you have it on a tighter than x7 radi when through 90deg out a fairlead (although large rad fairleads help (delta - tek - for example)) and the difference there that a smaller rope will take it better. ropes that fail dont usually fail at this point, they fail soon after on a 'normal' pull in the area where the bend would of been at max load from my experience Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |
