Friction plates generations for Puma

Second type is showing the flywheel side whereas 1 and 3, the gearbox side. Also 2nd type has more spring loops than 3rd but less than 1st.

Finally 4th type with a gloss finish. Apparently number of coils increased again. Trial and error design Shocked

When it comes to friction plates I am a bit thick. What the difference?

I've been told the newest part number: LR048731

Has a bonded thrust washer to help prevent rattling and problems with springs.

rattling from the clutch on my TD4 110 SW MY2011
Hello together, at the moment my car is in the workshop - for different repairs.
One of them is the rattling nois from the clutch. Engine is running and the clutch pedal is not pressed.

So my clutch has now been dismantled and we found the following situation:
The springs on the clutch (the small ones on the back side) they do not look relly good.
And the other springs are loose in the clutch.

Does anybody know - my car is from 2011 - but perhaps they built in an old clutch from before - where the problems with the torsion springs have been broken...

I attach a picture from my clutch.

Is there an optical difference between the updated clutches?
Or is it possible to find out - which version my clutch is.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Kind regards

Very common to see small springs broken. Also some of the main ones tend to break on their tips. Your plate looks like 2-3 generation. I think Sachs is also building them nowadays. Maybe better than AP. Puma 110" SW

Thanks a lot for this information - so I think it usually should not be a big problem to change the clutch under warranty...
We will see whet Land Rover will answer in this case.

Are the latest clutches from the TD4 110 2,4l clutches from Sachs?

Kind regards

Does anyone have recommendations for the best place to purchase a complete clutch kit for a 2007 2.4 puma?

I assume I need
Pressure plate
Cover
Release bearing / slave kit
Flow restrictor

Cheers Keith

Porny / Ian must be working on some secret projects as he isn't answering pm's or emails at the mo - I think a puck clutch would be overkill for my use but I wanted some advice / costs on a turbo etc and he's very quiet!

The original clutch has now done 156,000 km, has been rattling since 46,000 km and I think it needs a birthday!

Does anyone know why the flywheel has been replaced on some of the other posts?

Cheers anyway
