Are you sure ? I've had my headlights off three times now and from memory its the screws at 3 oclock, 9 oclock and the motorised one (connected to the height adjustment knob on the dash) at 6 oclock where adjustments need to be made. I just kind of figured it out so if I've done it wrong please advise ! |

I've just dropped a screw thru the slot - if you take the headlamp back out you can easily get access to retrieve the screw Series IIa Lightweight - Long Gone Discovery 1 300Tdi - Sold Defender 110 XS 07MY Utility |

Old thread, but Ive just shafted my alignment and my headlamp vertical adjuster doesnt work now either after I made a right fanny of bulb changing.
Shouldve read this first. |

Replacement bits are cheap enough. Headlight fitting kit STC1614 contains most of what you need for 8. My local tyre/MOT garage adjusted the headlights for free.

Thanks Balvaig. My local garage fixed the issue FOC too (I hadn't located the screws at 6 o'clock in the slot properly - both sides!!) but my offside adjuster motor now just makes a buzzing noise. Will have to try and find it. The other works OK.

From memory it is behind the bowl which is behind the light. Might just need lubricating. Worth switching the setting from 0-3 and back a few times and watch whether the headlight adjusts. Might also be mislocated. Pretty certain you will have to remove the headlight again to get at it.

Make sure the adjuster is in the slot of the headlight ring and not behind it.
