it's in the dealers currently...
I am just not convinced that the pipe was in the right place to start with. This after being in the dealership for extended periods of service and work around the particular area........ Just wanted to compare a few photos to cure my own curiosity really. |

I've just had a recent saga with ABS/TC warning lights. Vehicle was in several times. This was attributed to an incorrectly routed outlet valve cable 'since manufacture.'
The aircraft I work on were manufactured by Mexicans who were more often than not intoxicated (well that's the rumours on the shop floor) hence the different build qualities. I suppose anyone can make an error and it would be a boring world without them! Obviously not every nook, cranny, nut, bolt or washer can be inspected during Land Rover's quality process. Upshot is it is quite feasable that your pipe was indeed routed incorrectly, the fact it has been sorted one would assume 'free gratis' under warranty should pacify you and allow you to sleep at night. Thanks for the posting , I include one of mine from the front showing where the pipe has been worn by the base of the coil spring... It would seem that it could be rectifed by stopping of the steering lock bolts.. It was my view that the pipe should have taken a different route though...

Fekete me old Northern Mucker,
Like you I haven't alot on today either, whilst comparing yours and Ed's photos it appears you may have been 'diddled' out of an extra pipe. It appears Ed's got an extra rigid pipe! Any ideas what this may be and why you ain't got one? Hate to think you 'dipped out!' If it wasn't for the fact it's peeing down here and mine is a mile away I'd go see myself if I got one! Humm,
Fekete's and Ed pictures refers to a different wheel. Im not sure but I think both sides are not equal in the pipe routing. I will check today mine to see the configuration. I found some old pictures of the brake lines (mine doesnt have ABS and TC) Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Eduardo,
Fekete's and Ed's pictures are of the same wheel. When sitting in the vehicle it is the wheel that is at the front on the left. Hope this clarifies. Fekete,
Thought you had TC on yours! I thought TC/ABS was standard on 'em all. Shows what I know! Need to do a bit of swatting (no flies on me by the way). Don't want to hijack this thread but heard good and bad things about TC/ABS. I cannot turn mine off, off-roaders have mixed views if this is a good or bad thing.
In my limited experience I do know that having taken my mind off the road just before a hairpin before the snow were it not for TC/ABS I would have done some serious damage to the Defender and my pride for being such a biff! Oops, you are rigth, same wheel looking from different side (I need vacations).
Looking the photos, Ed's brake pipe looks shorter I thought. By the way TC/ABS were not standard at least in Chile. When I bought mine TC/ABS was not available . Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

K9 went out in one last week with TC/ABS and the TC was working all the time...I think i'd rather have it than not.. but when i got the Defender it was the only one about in that color and with it being my first i thought they all had it as standard
To be honest i was to excited to care NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |
