Thats the area I am particularly interested in. I am sure there is another post on here about somebody removing the back seats from a DC and fitting noise killer and they said it made a lot of difference.
I am not sure about the under bonnet kit as I have read a few reports about bits of the insulation falling off. Bob |

I don't think it is as comfortable as the seats though Bob,not much thigh support, the under bonnet stuff really does stick well. 2.4 90 XS 1968 1/32 scale Britains 109 Pick up. |

And those bits of metal the seats are bolted to will get in the way as well
Noise Killer must have sorted the under bonnet kit, that is good news ! Bob |

I never found the need for noise a suppression kit on my Puma. It is the quietest Land Rover I have ever owned. Some noise feed back from the engine is very useful when you are driving. What little noise there is is not unpleasant. With the standard Land Rover music system in place everything is audible. I can converse with the misses beside me and the kids behind me so no complaints. I get more road noise from the General Grabbers than I do noise from the engine. Never thought I would be able to hear tyres over the engine in a Defender! There is the odd prang from underneath when a stone gets thrown up but nothing to complain about. Anyway have just consulted the troops and they all agree with the above. Each to their own. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Bob i removed my rear seats and fitted just the rear area with the noise killer kit and it made a huge differance
Spudfan tyre noise can be quite tiring on a long journey so any little improvement is great we`ve just done over 6500miles in 3 weeks and noisey tyres would not have been nice |

I did not mean to say that I considered the tyres noisy, just that it is a novelty being able to hear road noise over engine noise in a Defender! Over here there are no motorways near me so I have never experienced the Defender travelling long distances at high speeds. Hope you enjoyed your trip and each to their own. Have not got around to any customising yet as I am very pleased with Zulu as she is. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

Guys where I can find the under bonnet noise killer kit?
For the interior I will use a particular material that we use in our insulation work that have very high sound proof power. As soon as I will be back home I will install this material and I will make same acoustic test before and after the application! http://www.fonosphera.com/fonosphera-sf51.html Matteo Defender 110 Td4 SE MY 09 |

How much impact does the floor kit on its own make? Im not too fussed with the engine, but blanking out some road noise... Mike

Mike I fitted my kit in stages, rear cab floor and back first, then front floors followed by the rest of the interior and under bonnet. The floor supression made the biggest difference, no more drumming of the panels and greatly reduced road noise. Still got the doors to do. Bob |
