New to Defenders and this forum too
Just a quick post to say hi,

never had cause to join before as I've had a 1974 Series for the last 5 years or so. However, after a good year of looking have now got a Defender. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the next few months!

Will try and post pics if I can....

Cheers,
Martin.

Working on pics at the moment.

It is a M Reg, 300Tdi County Hardtop with rear windows fitted. 120,000 miles on the clock.

Don't know if I did the right thing or not as it has a non-working GKN overdrive and also timing gears (not belt) fitted. Chassis, bulkhead and bodywork all very good though so hopefully those aren't two major problems. Drives and sounds nice - and I've driven a lot of horrible ones when looking for this!

i had a GKN overdrive. which bit doesnt work the engagement system and speed sensor seems to be the most common failure, you can bypass all of that though.

she looks a good one. Cheers
