jst - interested to hear more about the GKN you had.

Mine just doesn't engage, red light comes on over and under 30mph when you flip the switch so I'm thinking possibly the speed sensor? Not sure if light flashes when ignition first turned on, will need to watch for that happening or not.

In terms of workarounds, I've read somewhere about just wiring straight to the solenoid through a relay tied in to the reverse light switch so you can't engage by accident in reverse but would need to remember not to sue at low speeds yourself. Could be low oil, need to check that too

I'll play around with the solenoid first and see if it is working and then take it from there. May just be a bad connection somewhere though? I've not had a good look at it yet but couldn't easily see the breather assembly from below so I'm wondering if it is there at all?

I_AM - where about in Edinburgh are you (just incase I ever need a hand with something!) I'm in EH14.
