Not that I am aware of. If you only wanted the EGR closed I'm sure they would be able to do that for you? Perhaps even for a reduced price if it is only that you want done. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Out of interest, what would be the price Steve? It may be worth it if that is all that people want, even if its only £20 less than a tune.

Regards,

Mark

I've just had my 110 remaped and turning off the EGR was part of the mapping process provided by BAS, did a great job from what I've had a chance to see so far.. Cool
but I also know that Prony has an EGR removal product avalible that may do the job - maybe well worth chatting to him ...

EGR removal - contrary to what some people might think is not just a switch in the calibration that says yes or no...

To it properly the air path calculation needs to be changed - to account for the fact all of the air flow demanded from the engine will be coming from the Air Intake (and through the MAF) and not a percentage from the EGR system. And a few other things Whistle

What a lot of people also don't realise is that EGR does not work all of the time...

EGR will only start when the engine is at a certain coolant temp, and will only be open at idle/light/mid load conditions - working properly, the EGR system will close at full throttle - to ensure you get optimum performance when needed.

The EGR system if it goes faulty can cause quite a few problems - including excessive bore wore, oil contamination - and even a small leak will reduce performance as the EGR gas will heat up the intake air temp.

From recent experiments and testing - you need to be very careful how you disable the EGR system... all will be revealed very soon....

Toplink, why do you want the EGR system disabled?

I want to shut off the egr because in my way of thinking what is the point of pushing dirty exhaust fumes through my engine. In time it will just coke every thing up.
An engine needs clean fuel, clean oil and clean air. Its never over in my land rover.

That is the point where - in my foolish theory - it might be easy to gull. There should be one place in the ECU, where the coolant temperature you mentioned is stored. If that value could be changed to, say, 140°C ...
But it is not the first time I´m wrong, because I really have not the slightest idea how the ECU is programmed and works. But that needn´t stop one from talking, does it .. ? ... Smile

That's a good enough reason lol.

I can sort it out if needed, will work out a price.

There is more than just one map... But that is one basic way of doing it.

if you are all that keen for a egr removal it would be £300 but for £350 you could have it remapped at the same time ?

Thumbs Up

As other have said another option is Pete at BAS.

If you don't have a remap interface you can take the car to Pete / post ECU and have it returned next day. I haven't got around to it yet, but was going to do it. Cost was around £100 I think...
