 2016 Defender 130 Puma 2.2 HCPU Santorini Black
You carb fed V8 tech kings
Stock 1985 3.5 V8 CSW. Only done 8 k in last 7 years but serviced every year. New short block when re built in 2006 and carb exchange re did the twins.

I buy it and have done 2k in last month, almost a shakedown since its re build. Question is .......

2 little pipes which vent into passenger side wing area. Obvious that they come from the 2 carbs. Would expect a little bleed on short runs/choke but it's doing good long 35 mile journeys each day and you can see it venting even after that?

Had exactly the same problem with a 1990 V8 carb fed Discovery, it was venting after any length of journey.

It actually went back to LR to investigate and fix. All I can remember is that it can back with longer vent pipes Shocked

Not a lot of help really.

If its got SUs it is most likely that the float needles or seats need replacing as they have worn, Ive done this on HS and HIF carbs and its not hard but never on a Rover V8 but expect its a simular arrangement. Would expect a good manual to cover how. Another thing to check is the fuel pump if an aftermarket high pressure one is fitted it can overcome the floats and you will need a regulator
