Did they give you the start point ? If not I will ask tomorrow as I have to speak to them about something else. Some events start here http://raleghscross.co.uk/ so that would be a good area to look at. When I get the start place I will post back

It is
It's known locally as the Raleghcross Hotel but the real name is the Raleghcross Inn. Always looks good when we have met in the bar before a trip
They do B&B plus evening meals in the bar. Also a nice pub/B&B in Wheddon cross, The Rest and Be Thankful. Same type of arrangement and we stayed there when we did the challenge last year. Start point is either The Rest and Be Thankful at Wheddon or the Raleghcross at Brendon Hill.

I must admit to being a tadge jealous, apart from the cost. Quite a few years ago I had to take my then boss and his horses down on his annual pilgrimage to follow hounds across Exmoor. When it was nearing the end of his break I went down a couple of days early to have a couple of days following myself not by horse but in my truck. At the time I had an old Diahatsu Fourtrack, one of the early F50's, cracking little motors but like the Suzuki SJ's a little prone to falling over
 I had two days up on the moors following some local farmers going places that would be totally a NO-NO nowadays, being with the landowners we were not exactly following recognised routes just relying on their knowledge of the land. It can be quite un-nerving to drive somewhere in this country in thick fog in the middle of nowhere having to keep right up behind the truck in front, who had only one rear light, or else be completely lost 
Must admit the breaks were enjoyable, the amount of rum and brandy that was flowing was certainly keeping us warm along with the female passengers that were along for the ride |

They are meeting at Raleigh's Cross for a 10am start.
