And on later Defenders its 75W/90 Synthetic gear oil, not EP 90 Edit ... Thats 1.60 ltrs per diff [not in total] Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

Picked up 5l of 75/90 and then found in the shed another 2.5l of the stuff!!!
Same oil as the transfer case it seems according to the Haynes manual. Well it shows MIL-L-2105 specs for both oils (75/90 for transfer case and 80EP or 90EP for axles) 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

I emailed an oil company a while ago and the alternative MTF94 was a syntrax 75 oil. Handy having the same oil as the transfer case. I guess the Evo oil from another forum is 75 based oil.? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I'm waivering a bit with regard to main gearbox [on the Puma], although others are happy its the same stuff
Castrol's own spec sheet states BOT 130M is a fully synthetic Transmission fluid, which is not the same thing as a fully synthetic Gear oil [even if the viscosity is the same at 75W/90]..... Might just be me being too pedantic ............. Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |
