Just because the indicators are flashing it does not mean the battery has been changed, it could be low and causing problems with the immobilser.

I would be very surprised if your starter motor is falling to bits, I think you may have more symptoms than just one failure to start Shocked

Change the battery and eliminate that as a cause Thumbs Up

checked the batteries and they are different and I'm sure they'd have been the safe from the factory.

I reckon all is good and I'll just keep a check on things (can't really understand why it would start but I'm hoping it was just a blip - excuse the pun)

Battery change in the remote fobs is part of the " B " service, ie: every 2 years.
Of course you have to remind the Dealer and supply the 2 fobs. LANDYWATCH

Did you relieve yourself against the back tire last time in the bush? LR are characters and they say payback is a bitch just throwing it out there if the shoe fits wear it. 2013 Orkney Grey 110 SE on order should be here on 20/04
