United Kingdom 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Any idea what this is?
Hello all,

When I came out of the house this AM I noticed what appeared to be a string hanging off the underside of my 110.

Upon further investigation, it appears to be some sort of seal that has ripped/broken:

Anyone know what this is, or if it is important?

Does it warrant me bringing the Defender back in to the deal? I did plan on bringing it in anyhow, as the clunky gearbox and clicking wipers are driving me up the wall.

Thanks![/img]

That is what I thought at first as well. It appears to be made out of a foam rubber like material.

just a bit of weather seal between the sill panel and the body. I'd say fix it yoursef (don't get the dealers to do it) - I wish I had !

Thanks for the info all.

Is there a product that one can get, either online or from Halfords, that would do the trick? I tried pushing it back in and it doesn't stay.

That's basically the draught-excluder foam that they fit to fill the panel gaps. Definitely get the dealer to replace it, although it is pretty rubbish foam and seems to perish pretty easily. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
