Help !
Spent a fun hour this afternoon trying to remove the Alpine CDE130 from the dash of the 90. I have not been able to find any Alpine removal keys apart from in the US. I was reliably (?) told by Halfords that Sony keys are the ones - wrong !! Anybody know what removal keys will work, they are flat plate type keys that slide into the side of the unit ? Should it not have come with them ? Are they in hand book ? It's good to be back from the dark side

Bob- i removed one from a 13 plate last week, there is two locating pins which have springs and just need pushing up, easiest and most quickest option is to pop the dash center out mate CSK Automotive

Thanks all
Centre dash is coming out so that may be the only way to do it. Saw the full kits on Amazon etc, probably be the best bet. Had a good look round and JVC may be the same ? I would have thought they should be with the vehicle. I asked the dealer but apparently that is not the case. I suppose I could contact LR directly as they must have a few lying around that have not been supplied with the vehicles Bob 2015 Jaguar XE240 R Sport - goes like ....... !! 2013 Defender 90 CSW - sold 2009 Defender 110 Double Cab - sold 2001 TD5 90 CSW - offroad project - sold to a forum member 2011 Porsche Boxster - for the sunny days ! |

I need the centre dash out to fit a check temp and another little box of tricks so 'I know where it is'
The box of tricks will only take 10 minutes to fit as I have all the harnesses made up now. I also need to sort the radio/aerial out, it keeps losing reception. I am going to fit an Entreq Flexi aerial on both the 90's when Brendan has them back in stock as I am fed up with bending the antique LR ones I think the radio problem is due to the aerial not being correctly earthed but want to make sure it is actually plugged into the radio first. Ah I see. Those little temp gauges are nice. And I have that issue with my aerial too must have a look at the workshop manual and see what I can find out some time. No Guts, No Glory.

Thanks for the offer Stu
Just been speaking to Alpine UK and they inform me that the keys are not needed despite it stating they are in the manual. I will post back how I get on with their workaround.
