Hi Alex,
As your Defender is black and you say you have plain uncoated CP have you thought about having a black roofrack frame with plain uncoated aluminium runners? I decided on this route and bought a Patriot rack. I'm not sure who else offers the dual finish, but there has got to be others. The Patriot is heavy, but very well made. However, my only gripes about it is that they use Stainless Steel nuts and bolts for assembly with thread sealant. They are an absolute to undo and that is if you don't mess up the allen head which means a drill out. They are also great when new, but after 6months with rain you can see a chemical reaction between the aluminium and the stainless steel which drips onto your roof and stains the paintwork. Not very good. Other than the above the Patriot is very solid and I think the Landrover roof would collapse well before the roof rack. Have a look on my gallery and you will see the roof rack or pm me your e-mail address and I will send you more detailed photos. Cheers Steve |

Not got a Hannibal but a patriot I was going to get it black but then decided to leave it silver so I don't need to worry about it getting scruffy.
