Fekete my 'penny pinching' northern buddy at Devon 4x4 and with the size of wheel you're running on there is only a £39 difference between bare steel and powder coating per wheel! I don't reckon that's too bad for a zinc wash and a powder coat treatment! Tell you what, if I win the lottery this weekend I'll buy you the whole kit and kaboodle myself! (Win has to be a million or over for you to qualify!) Maybe i'll even negotiate a discount for two sets! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

AndrewS,
I too am interested in the Mach 5s, when following your link above and entering that site 'links' it directs you to the following site for Mach 5 - http://www.mach5wheels.co.uk/, this in turn does not appear to exist (could be my cr4p pooter skills.) Did you purchase yours from mjloffroad or did you go to Mach 5 direct? (Also do you have a good link for them if you did?) Sorry to be a pain but thanks in anticipation! Not sure what is going on with M J Lee Engineering as apparently Lee has wanted to sell the Mach5 wheel production part of the business for some time. I heard that Devon 4x4 bought it but then that could be a rumour, perhaps this is why the link does not work. If you click the contact link give them a call and let us know.

AndrewS,
Spoke to Matt Lee direct, the Mach 5 perspective of the business was indeed sold but the company 'went bust!' He now has the manufacturing rights back again, and has started reproducing! The 'new' Mach 5s have been restyled slightly with the centres being restyled, the spokes being slightly flared and restyling on the beadlocks too. The restyled beadlocks are the first to be produced. He is now dealing solely with Devon 4x4 so that it the route to go down for your requirements. As stated this information was by telephone and Matt was understandably cautious about divulging too much information to a stranger, but there you have it! Hope this helps. Wonder if the 'old style Mach 5s may be subject to some form of discount! If not, I for one will wait to see the new ones! I called Devon and Simonites requesting 18" Mach 5s they both told me to go direct to Matt. I think Matt is married to one of the Simonite ladies or there is a link there. Anyway Matt did make me 6 No 18" wheels but was happy as they were not type approved. I told him that they were for Morocco so he was OK with that. Tell you what though my son CarlS wiped the competitors on a special stage in the dunes with his standard 110 with the Cooper STT 18/s on, and he was up against some tricked up kit. I think its on Youtube I will go digging. |
