Interesting concept looking at it as 'a light bracket!' With the soft version i've got fitted and my Lightforces from which i've suspended them from, bet I can 'sell' it to my insurance company to reduce the £70 loading they applied for the A Bar! Next May they can whistle! Anyone got any good insurer recommendations?

Fekete me old mucker - I have forwarded your response to my solicitor to check for the legality of it's content! Not overly endeared by the inclusion of your bowing down emoticons - they are indeed facing eastward and I am not a muslim! Will have to take advice! In the interim I am wary of posting anything but the basic responses as there may well be a 'spy in the camp.' I am also aware he may not be too difficult to spot. Eyes peeled!!! Only if the insurance company can prove that the tyres caused the accident. Also please note that the law states the the flat surface of the tread must not be visible from above the vehicle. So the sidewall/sidewall tread can stick out Please see a pic from fekete's gallery showing that the flat tread is in fact not visible from above the vehicle as its 'in' the wheel arch very close I must admit but none the less its inside the wheel arch. |

Thanks Willy
So do's that mean that if a vehicle was purchased before the 25th of may 2007 you're legal as my vehicle was before this date ?? Also with the wheels... I've been lead to understand you are allowed 30mm of tread outside the wheel arch NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY Last edited by fekete on 18th Jan 2010 4:07pm. I don't know about the light bar but i wouldn't worry about it, the wheels look legal to me as per Andrews Post. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

You're a bundle of laughs you are! Bet there's never a dull moment zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Oops dropped off there for a moment. Throw away comments to become more substantive need to be backed up by some sort of evidence otherwise the author becomes controversial and eventually an annoyance in my opinion. It is just that of course just that...... my opinion! Just like this post, not backed up by any evidence, controversial and probably an annoyance I know. I always thought that any part of the tyre protruding from the wheelarch was an MOT failure due to risk to pedestrians?? The rear tyre on the enhanced picture looks a few inches on the illegal side? As for the insurance only taking an interest if the tyres caused the accident, that is all they need to dismiss a claim as they will find ANY excuse as this is an undeclared accessory and if illegal your on to plums... 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

In my case with the soft 'Frontal Protection System' FPS as it is referred to and 'approved' of in your link, this is an extract from it - "Because of the good energy absorption capacity the FPS will definitely reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries in the case of (unfair) collisions with vulnerable road users." They even produce percentages of the probability of reduced injuries. My flippin' insurance company should be offering me a rebate - not loading my premium further! Thanks Willy excellent ammo when my insurance comes up for renewal. Nothing wrong with a little woolly bundle of joy loving now and again. Aparently! Reading between the lines Fekete it does 'imply' your vehicle is ok! Mine certainly wouldn't be registered after May 07.
