Default radio code?
Is there a default radio code for the Tdci Land Rover radio? We disconnected the battery when fitting the winch and never thought about the radio! Idiot me!

Trouble is we didn't get the code when we bought the motor and Land Rover say it's a customer choice code.

Radio code was supplied in mine. When the radio was changed under warranty I was given a new code for the replacement radio. Can't see why you cannot be given your code if you supply the VIN number. Don't know of anyway of putting in your own code. It sort of defeats the purpose of a security code, if it can be changed at will.Get on to the service manager at the garage where it was bought and ask him (or her) to chase it up for you. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The original Edinburgh dealer lost out in a Land Rover rationalisation and no longer exists.

The radio code card hasn't been filled in! Not good Stratstones!

It's not looking good!!

I think you can go to any dealership and then can get the code from the serial number on the radio?

OR

Sounds like you have a good excuse to get something new Wink Thumbs Up

Explain the situation to a more local dealer and take your LR purchase receipt and details. They can un-lock it and put it back to a factory pre-set code I'd have thought usually 0000 or 9999 Likely 0000) if they are half decent at all they will do it for free. If not and they want a bit for doing it perhaps consider chaning to aftermarket. Especially if you'd like some extra features?

Thumbs Up

P.s. Perhaps if you simply haven't got the Radio pin code card then maybe LR will have it on their system recorded instead. Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

If its the original radio any dealer can get it for you from the last 6 of the VIN.

Take a look in the battery compartment. When vehicles leave the factory the radio code is on a tag in a baggie duct-taped to the battery. It should be removed at PDI but seldom is; you may be lucky.

If all else fails, you can get it from here - http://www.radiocodes.co.uk/land-rover-radio-codes

I've used them to get a Land Rover code and it worked ok.

The serial number entry wouldn't work for my head unit so I left it blank and just put the VIN in and it worked fine. Didn't come automatically, but came via an email the next day. Craig Rogers

Hi JR

I'm Kelly from JLR Customer Relationship Centre.

If you would like to send me a PM with your VIN number, full name, contact number and email address, I will see what I can find out for you.

Kind regards,
Kelly

re- default radio code
Just to let everyone know that Kelly@ Land Rover and Jeremy have been stars! The radio now works. It was a bit protracted as the security paperwork hadn't been completed by the selling dealer but we got there with the radio serial code.

My business partner is now a very happy man, deaf but very happy!

Now to try & get Land Rover to supply the driver's door lock, the dealer told us the last 1 they ordered took more than a year to arrive, and it was for a Police motor!
