Morning Matt. Over here the emissions test works something like this; If the engine achieves 1.5 K(1/m) or below on its first rev then it passes the emissions test, if it fails then an average of 3 readings is taken. If the average reading is at or below 3 K(1/m) then it is a pass, if not the test is re-done for another average of 3 readings and if it fails that then it fails... They really give the vehicle every chance. http://www.dvtani.gov.uk/uploads/customers...eaflet.pdf An MOT guy I spoke to says that it is really important to give the vehicle a darned good run before getting it tested as it could 1/2 the amount of particulates. He also said it was worthwhile servicing the vehicle and flushing it with something like 10k diesel or Wurth as that also helps. The TD5 MOTs were done a 2 stations and the 200tdi at another. Going on that info, the td5 even with 6k miles on the oil and filters managed to get through the first test... |
