Belgium 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 X-Tech LE Nara Bronze
My brother is also into cars but not LR. I have to check with him but I think once a month there's a meet called 'cars & coffee' where anybody with a special car and a good story meets. If your interested it might be fun to make it part of your trip and I make sure to be there too then.

Let's remind us of that when it comes closer to our trip.
As to your question of headlights, I presume you refer to mine which you must have seen in my gallery. They are J.W. Speaker LED headlamps, with the same ECE approval as our original H4 headlamps, so fully road legal in Europe. I bought mine from Mobilecentre, one of the site sponsors, and have also obtained a copy of the actual ECE type approval for these LED lamps. They are absolutely fantastic, use the site search engine and type in for instance LED Speaker, and you will get numerous threads to educate you.
Groeten, Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

very smart Thumbs Up

i'm not sure about Europe but i believe that the brush wires that run from your wings to the roofrack are illegal on the road in england.

the engine tuning sounds curious - 133bhp upto 150 without remap - if you have any more details about this i would be very interested Thumbs Up

I will ask. I've driven a 110 a month ago that was chipped and it was more agile the this one. However it's not lazy as a standard 110 so something changed.
One thing I do already know is the the limiter is off and all is within safe limits. I will try to ger more details.

I also plan, if possible, to meet the former owner to talk me through the car. That would be an interesting talk I think. It is sold by the owners dealership but they only know so much, don't they...

Hi Dirk, just see this now. Congrats with that beauty Thumbs Up As farmer Giles said, those brushwires are illegal in Belgium too, take them off, you are not planning to scrape this beauty thru many bushes in the near future I think Whistle You never actually own a Defender. First thing will be wheels and tyres. Gonna buy some winter tyres next year with seperate rims but first some for offroading. Not only to get better grip but also to save the saw tooths. As I expect to use it as my daily drive I think it's cheaper to have general more road friendly tyres on he saws.

Get a set of these wheels/tires, recommended and sold here by LR as winter tire combination for Defenders, and from experience I can assure you, they are just all you need in the Nov/March period Thumbs Up

Why you say a standard 110 is lazy? Shocked Think mine which is bog standard is doing exactly what it needs to do, easily can keep it cruising on the highway at 130 km/hr, but obviously it is not doing the 0-100 in under 10 secs, but point is, it is not meant to do that Rolling Eyes
You say that you have still a good 1 year factory warranty left, make sure that the dealer from whom you bought it puts this in writing, as you don't want an issue later on that they say, oh, but speed limiter is removed and you have tuned it, so warranty is nul and void now. Get the dealer to confirm to you what has been done to it and include this in the written confirmation that basis those de-limited and tuned specs the warranty remains fully valid (HE WILL NOT Exclamation ). So, in that case, get them to reset everything at their expense to factory standards in order to preserve the warranty. Maybe you won't need the warranty Whistle , but you might Sad ,... so be prudent Thumbs Up You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Ok "lazy" is a bit harsh a word.
I was gonna take everything off that I dont need for day to day use anyway. But it's nice to have when I'd go greenlaning.
Am looking at:

Youtube: greenlaneadventure1

Do not forget I'm still new in Defenderland. Still lots to learn Very Happy .
Winter tyre set up is what I was thinking. Wolf rims arent that expensive.
