I noticed that it's not really defined anywhere (that I can find), apart from approach/departure.
So what is the figures for a standard 90/110 for Pitch and Roll? I have a figure of 45deg in my mind for the roll? Ta! Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Not entirely sure what you mean by 'pitch' but I'm guessing 'roll' refers to ability to traverse side slopes? If so then I doubt Land Rover would claim a figure as there are too many variables and too much scope for things to go badly. I suspect that given a nice even slope and no unusual loadings that 45 degrees would be doable. It is safe to say that the vast majority of people would bottle out before that limit was reached though. Darren

Most people bottle it well before 45 degrees. It's a long way over!

By pitch I mean fore and aft, to be honest its probably a lot higher than the approach and departure angles anyway. Craig Rogers

Well, Land Rover quote a maximum gradient figure of 45 degrees, which I guess is the same thing? Darren

the angle it will reach before tipping over sideways will vary quite a lot on what you do to the landy
wider wheels will increase the angle before you end up on your side, as will lowering it, or adding weigh below the centre of gravity (side steps steering guards axle guards etc) longer springs or adding weight up high will reduce the angle (roof racks roll cages etc) a standard Land Rover 90 is about 40 degrees DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |
