Thanks BM, yes I'm pretty right with the sub, I think, I haven't started the install yet, just nutting everything out before I do. The sub is all RCA connections to the rear of the head unit with a power feed to pick up.

Personally, having spent a considerable sum on the kit and going to the bother of installing sound insulation I would replace ALL of the cables, speaker and power with good quality ones

Are you saying new power to the head unit as well, or the separate power feed for the sub which I will be doing anyway.

Only my opinion, but I've taken new power and earth cables up to head unit (and amps) to ensure plenty of ampage and a good quality earth

Yep and I appreciate your opinion, its something to think about, I have to get the sub cable under the flooring and up to the dash anyhow.
I suppose I could leave all of the factory wiring in place as well just in case I decided to put back to stock if I sold the car, not likely at this stage though, but ya never know!!!!! Last edited by Cracka on 17th Feb 2013 1:28am. Edited 1 time in total |

I used plastic convoluted tube with a screw on fitting each end (so totally sealed), a hole in battery box end and another in bulkhead to right of steering wheel. Infact I have three running from the bulkhead to various places. Perhaps a bit extreme but makes cable runs clean and easy

Do you mean from the battery box under the car into the engine bay then in through the bulkhead.

There's a whole gold mine of info on here to help you even by pictures alone. Although no two installs are the same. I would say mine (I'm going to say that aren't I ![]() ![]() β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Yes mate, your'e right about the quality of installs. That's why I haven't put mine in yet, I just haven't got my head into it properly as yet (the wiring side of it). Im running 2 projects at the moment, doing these things to 'Ivy' and I'm also doing a refurb on a boat. I go into the shed and intend to do 1 thing and end up doing bits on each.....its not conducive to getting things done in a timely manner I'm afraid.
