I let mine go when I move to disks. The P Bone wasn't a bad fork either.

So, I had my Single Speed Brian Rourke custom frame repainted, picked it up this evening, started building it up....

As I took my rear tyre off to put a new one on, BANG.... The Chris King hub died.
Basically the flange decided to pop around 2 spokes...
Now this hub... Let's talk RRP the cost isn't much more.... Here we go, over a 3 year period

Hub purchase 330
Build and rim 75

Then the axle split, new axle 100 (that's trade)
New nuts 25

Then a service 120

Then it died completely and had to have ALL new internals 200

So so far this back wheel has cost 850 now it's going need a new shell and build, plus rim and rebuild 175?

1025 on one rear wheel
Plus I run my Hope wheel as a spare, which needs a rebuild and tomorrow I'll buy a Goldtec hub as a double back up(which I already have built on a rim for me....225.

1250 on a spunkin rear wheel!

Land Rovers aren't so expensive are they?

Maybe I just got a really good deal because I bought my hubs trade and in the next state along from where they are made, but I paid less for a pair than that, including build with CX Ray spokes.

The lock ring cracked on mine and in the winter the freewheel pawls freeze. It's only nostalgia which makes me buy Chris Kings. Although i'll need a pair on my Cielo obviously!
