At long last got around to fitting Safari-Equip bumperettes to the 110 time, weather etc hampered fitting before now.
Thanks to the long suffering Brendan for both supply and follow up with fitting bolts Quite an easy fitment (bit more fiddly on the exhaust side though) Had to fit a 5mm nylon spacer to the outboard sets of bolts so they sat in line with the bodywork (not quite enough allowance for the curve in the crossmember unfortunately) Looks like either the cross member or the bumperettes holes are going to need a little bit of 'adjustment' as they don't sit quite level, but thats for another time - ran out of daylight. Looks like these are a decently made bit of kit and also MADE IN ENGLAND so all good. Before and after pics. Dropped the 110 off for some remedial work, heater fan only working on 3 and hi level brake light out, the latter seems to be an open circuit on the switched 12 volts as it enters the lamp. Asked for warrenty to cover (extended LR warrenty) but the dealer said they'd have to liase with warrenty co to confirm :/ . Freelander 2 courtesy car is a bit Meh too. maybe too car like for my tastes with a very confusing wiper switch arrangement. 2023 110 P400e

Just noticed that on the above bumperette fitting pictures that the rear cross member hasn't got the allen key headed bolts on the ends which foul the fitting of the bumperettes. I take it that the offending bolts are something to do with seat belt mountings as mine is a Station Wagon and DJ Huttons is a Utility Station Wagon thus no seats.

Yes, they secure a large tubular bracket that goes to the underside of the wheelbox to which, in turn, the seat belt brackets are fixed to. You can see it on the left of this picture:
Click image to enlarge I keep meanign to remove them from mine as I no longer have rear seats, but it's one of those jobs that involves crawling around underneath struggling with rusted bolts, so it's not very appealing Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? Finally got round to fitting my CSK drl bumper and some 30mm wheel spacers.
Must say I am extremely pleased with the drl's, very easy to fit and wireup. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Cheers Darren, one of these days I may get round to modifying my bumperettes, one side where I've left a seat in, the other side I might just take out the offending bracket where it's no needed.

Fitted a new original rubber liner for the back, the only reference from LR was the old shape style, luckily it fits perfect.
