Oil pump bolt loosening?
Just reading LRO march, article on disco 2 buying.

On the engine section they say there's a bolt holding on the gear on the oil pump that works loose.

Is this just on earlier td5's ? Mine is 2006, should I drop the sump for a check ?

I believe it was the early models.

Mines a 2003 and my Indie says it's ok.

New bolts come pre-coated with threadlock.

I've got some pictures at home of the old engine I bought that had this happen to it... wasn't a pretty sight (although the engine had been run for some time afterwards, it was totally wrecked.)

The problem had been sorted by 2002 when my Disco rolled off the line.

Pessimists say the glass is half empty..
Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be!

Easy fix is to get your local garage to take the old bolt out and fit a new one with threadlock at your next service!

An easy fix that needs the sump removing to do the job?

Was there a recall for the early Td5s? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Yes, you should be ok. It would have failed by now if it wasn't sorted!
