2012 90 SW - Sticking clutch :(
I have just bought a 2012 defender 90 with 3800 miles on the clock, an ex-demo from Stratstone in Stockton-on-Tees.

When changing up through the gears, i.e building revs to 3500rpm, I depress the clutch to select a new gear, the rev counter drops as it should but then sticks at 2000rpm for roughly 1-1.5 seconds then drops down again.

Is this normal?

Hi Chris

Check out my post re clutch switch and ecu .

Seems like L/R have created a monster with this feature, shame they dont know how to fix it !

Cheers Ken.

Entirely normal - the ECU holds the revs higher for some good theoretical reason, which doesn't appear to work so well in real life... My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk

Mine doesn't have the flat spot you are referring to Ken, so not quite as severe a problem as you are having.

I've adapted my driving style to it now, its actually very helpful when pulling the trailer.

It's ok, any warranty work will be undertaken either by Hunters of Chester or Conwy Land Rover. The only run in ive had thus far is over the spare key which they lost.

Good to hear that mate, I had months of bother with Stratstones. Solihull were the worst, in fact beyond belief at times but Stockton on Tees were as bad at times. I wouldn't bug a can of oil from them, never mind a car!
