Drove home from Milford Haven to Chester last night after being away for a couple of weeks.
Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire - some of the worst rain I have driven in in my life Mid Wales fine, just light rain and sleet Llandrindod Wells to Newtown some snow but no real issues Then...... Welshpool to Wrexham on A5/A483 - massive dump of snow but traffic still moving keeping to 30mph until just east if Chirk on the hill after you cross River Ceiriog when I found cars, trucks all over the place so I pulled the following up the hill to the layby just by McD Fiesta Mazda MX5 Merc Vauxhaul insignia Trailer, guy got his car up hill but left his trailer Another merc Renault traffic van with car trailer on back with a corsa on it (I regret not taking a photo of this one) Mercedes sprinter van And finally a 5 series BMW At this point grifters and ploughs got through and a foreign lorry pulled an eddie stobart truck up the hill. (Eastern European trucks must have good winter tyres) Then further along road I picked a bloke up who was walking home and freezing and ran him home. Got home 3 hours late, proud of my 130's performance. Richard 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |

Some really bizarre weather last night. Went up the M6 in sleet and rain, got to jt 13 (Stafford) and it was snowing a Blizzard and 3" deep! Absolute carnage- It was like that all the way to Runcorn- Single track and 30 MPH if you were lucky- shunts - breakdowns and stuck vehicles everywhere. Turned around and came home and the thaw had started- all lanes free and running fine Amazed that there was no evidence of the carnage 2 hours earlier !!!

Cleared the foot thick snow blanket off the roof . The LR roof rack had done a sterling job of keeping it hemmed in but the thaw had started to melt and re-freeze it overnight, didnt fancy large chunks falling off and maiming passers by or clouting following cars , though it may have been a detterrent to stay off my rear end in crappy conditions having recently had a near miss from a manic peugot van man who mounted the kerb avoiding my @rs as I slowed for on coming traffic. 2023 110 P400e

Stayed at home and after clearing the foot of snow from my drive/park area, I cleaned the 90, first time since the Peaks laning trip.
Then a friend come around and he had to just sit in it...... He'll have one soon enough |
