Alarm/central locking not working
Today whilst driving down a rough track at work the tow bar bottom out and made an almighty bang and then the hazard lights started flashing. I tried pressing the hazard light switch but this had no effect on the flashing lights, so I turned the engine off and the lights stopped flashing, then I started up and carried on as normal.
I ve just got home and parked up and pressed the key fob to arm the alarm and lock the doors and nothing happened. Tried locking the driver door and this only locks the drivers door. Quickly checked all the fuses that relate to the alarm and all seem fine.
Anyone any ideas what could be wrong? Is there another fuse under the bonnet for the alarm?

Are the tow bar electrics smashed? The wires may be shorting against each other.

Tow bar electrics all fine as they are mounted up near the rear cross member. It was the bottom of the adjustable tow pack that hit the floor.

Just been out to have another look. Still did not work. So I turned on the ignition on and pressed the buttons on the remote. Turned the ignition off, closed the door, then pressed the key fob and it is now working. No idea what has caused it or how it's fixed itself Confused Will mention it when in for its next service or before if it happens again.

Don't thnk it is anything to worry about.

I had this happen to me a few years ago, albeit in a Diso on a heavily corrugated road. i was driving too fast and tripped the inertia switch.

Soft reset is switching off and on again after a set period of time.
