If you talk about the Speaker 8700 Evo which are on that site, yes, most Defender drivers who have installed LED head lights either use the Speaker 8700 or the Speaker 8700 Evo. First class, and several site sponsors here offer those

Not quite, as Speaker charges an extra $100 per unit when their US dealers buy euro spec lights. Works outs about £640 a pair to buy in US. I assume they do this to try to protect the over inflated pricing of the European distribution arm. Cheers Steve |

Hi All,
Where is the best place to get JW Speaker lights from? Are these generally the best for the Defender? Not bothered about how they look, just the beam pattern and brightness. Cheers Steve |

Daniele, from your two posts above it is interesting to see that the new 7" LED headlamp which Nolden is launching this spring in Germany actually is made by Taiwanese Giantlight as it seems, and Nolden just acting as their marketeer for the European market... Nolden are informing that this new 7" LED lamp has better light output than the Speaker 8700 Evo which we all know well by now. Will be interesting once this Giantlight/Nolden product is really launched to hear some feedback from buyers and to see some comparative testing between the Speakers and the Nolden to hear if their statements are proven correct... I like the look of my Speakers very much, but the Nolden lamp looks quite good too in the few pictures that we have seen sofar, nothing too fancy looking, almost a cool understatement , which would fit the Defender look as well as the Speakers. You never actually own a Defender. Maybe so but that price is for US specific, we drive on the left, they are biased the wrong way. Doh!!!!!! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

If they "launch" them properly in Germany, I guess they will have to be "E" marked by then.
Still made in Taiwan and pointing "the wrong way" for you island-dwellers though Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
