Wiper issue......
Can any one tell me if this is easily curable!...but I think I already know the answer...

Wipers have decide to extend their ark and run from edge to edge.....most of the time, but not all...
Snow slid of the roof when they were in action and I can't decide if this has caused it, or if it is a coincidence.

The wiper mech was replaced under warranty last year, but the vehicle is now out of warranty by a month, so I was wondering if it is something that is fairly simple to tackle myself.

Cheers,

Leon.

sounds like they could have jumped a tooth. Try loosing the wiper bolt and adjusting them. "Overlanding With Bruce" - Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@OverlandingwithBruce

If they had jumped a tooth they would still wipe the same angle of arc, but would hit the frame at one end or the other. If the arc has increased (which it what the OP suggests) then I think that either the drive cable (rack) has stretched, or the wheelboxes have deformed, or the drive pin on the motor/cable link has come loose.

If it is the drive pin or cable it is realtively easy to sort and doesn't require the full removal of the dash (the motor and rack can be removed with the dash loosened but in situ - I posted a "how to" some while ago). A dealer will probably remove the dash for this however.

If the wheelboxes require removal then unfortunately the dash must come out, which makes it quite a big job.

Many thanks!

i am hoping that it is just the drive cable...I can't believe that such a small amount of snow could do what it has done!

...would you be able to send me the how to link...as I can't find it!

Cheers for your help,

Leon.
