Clear the code for now and see how it goes. If it comes back on / keeps coming on all the time then it needs replacing. It may also put out some MAF readings incorrectly too as it can alter it a bit.

Thanks,
Did clear the code. 2nd time I have done this now Hes got a dynachip remap which gives him 450m per tank what ever hes doing. Something must be working right as I cant this kind of mpg with mine If it kicks up again I will have to renew the EGR for him as hes no good with the spanners Chris 2008 XS 110 2.4 Utility. Tonga Green 1953 Series 1 for restoration 1983 Mini Mayfair 2004 VW T5 Camper 2008 Diahatsu Sirion. Thats hers Classic Bolens Garden Tractors |

With the EGR closed it probably will add a bit of MPG. And changing one been there done that. As normal a proper pain in the a** to get at! |

Simple test to see if the EGR is responding....can you hear the self clean cycle on shut down? Sounds a bit like 5 x chukka chukkas? Also the nanocom is a very good tool but unfortunately does not differentiate between tested and untested dtc's which can lead to serviceable parts being replaced needlessly.
Some random readings from my Puma taken with the nanocom, yet no tested dtc's found when using the MSV2 or IDS straight afterwards! NANOCOM - PUMAENG.APP - PUMA ENGINE fault file 0404 - 73 Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control circuit range/performance actuator stuck closed --- 0404 - 72 Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control circuit range/performance actuator stuck open --- 0299 - 00 Turbocharger A under boost condition --- 0100 - 29 Mass or volume air flow A circuit signal invalid --- NANOCOM - PUMAENG.APP - PUMA ENGINE fault file 1935 - 14 Brake switch sensor signal circuit short to ground or open --- 02A8 - 00 Cylinder 4 balance - (injector 3) restricted --- 029C - 00 Cylinder 1 balance - (injector 1) restricted --- 02A4 - 00 Cylinder 3 balance - (injector 2) restricted --- NANOCOM - PUMAENG.APP - PUMA ENGINE fault file 0404 - 73 Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control circuit range/performance actuator stuck closed --- 0299 - 00 Turbocharger A under boost condition --- 0606 - 49 Engine control module (ECM) processor internal electronic failure --- 0100 - 64 Mass or volume air flow A circuit signal plausibility failure --- 1169 - 00 Fuel rail pressure sensor in range but high --- 068A - 00 Engine control module (ECM) power relay deenergized - too early --- I'm sure that you will agree that some of the above dtc's are a little worrying? Yet the dealer level tools I have never logged the same dtc's as the nanocom. JMTW |
