Helped move my parents into their new home out in Herefordshire, just on the Welsh border. Got to put my 90 to proper use towing their Transit van up the steep 1-mile unpaved, snowy driveway . It's a shame I didn't take a video of the operation
One Transit van, delivered safe and sound Click image to enlarge The new house and my 90, looking salty and grubby... Bloody motorway slush Click image to enlarge The views are pretty damn good, especially with a pretty little 90 in the driveway Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Geoff 2007 Defender 90 Click image to enlarge |

Not too far away then We've still got some of the white stuff at the moment, might get a slight top up over the next couple of days as well.

Nope, I'll definitely be visiting that way as much as I can from now on, it sure as hell beats Stevenage!! We took a trip to Ludlow to stock them up on essentials which should last until Thursday, but if the snow lasts longer than that I might have to call on a few Local landies to rescue my folks they only have the Transit for the time being, the 130 is stuck under a flat in London (some plonker in a helicopter crashed into the crane outside and blocked the road!) There's a few of us about and on the whole we're friendly. I live just north of Hereford and if they have any problems give us a shout by PM, alerts get sent to my phone, It would be a poor to do if they felt stranded, this country isn't big enough to feel you're totally isolated

Went for a drive in the snow..until a road blockage caused by stupid people in adequate vehicles with inadequate tyres forced me to go back. 4 x 4 mentality is fine, but only when driving one! Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Wish I could but woke up this morning and the fwd cars are getting up fine now and the snow has gone , will put a sign up next time so people can wait for the tow and not trying to get up and failing lol, there are some numptys out there, the best part was as I was parked up and guy in a jeep grand Cherokee asked if I would like a tow and said I would not make it up the hill .................... I said I would rather push it myself if that was the case lol |
