nut rivet help!
Hi there...

I just bougth a mesh head lamp guard but obviosly I need to install it.
As far as I see the nut rivet system to fixed it, looks to be the best. But regretably the nut rivet tool is quite expensive here. I ordered one from USA but will arrive quite late (before Christmass)

Anybody knows a way to install this kind of rivet without using nut rivet tool?

Thanks for any suggestion Eduardo

hi, just use a bolt and nut, run nut up bolt, fit rivnut on end of bolt, run nut back down to rivnut, insert in hole, hold head of bolt with spanner and tighten nut with second spanner this will expand rivnut.

Nut & bolt the same size as the rivnut m6 m8 ? piece of plate with a hole drilled in the right size

screw nut and bolt together pass bolt thru plate attach rivnut

put rivnut in hole in car hold nut with spanner and tighten bolt until rivnut is firm back off and hey presto

Second this. You can make your own tool. Works perfectly in my experience (although I also bought one to same fiddling around all the time with spanners). One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
