Mines had all the above except replacement intercooler.
You dont actually 'blank off' the EGR on a puma [software issues] but remap the ECU to disable it. Not measured kw, but told by tuner its about 160 bhp All work carried out by IRB Developments - top notch experts in this field Mine tops the ton [100 mph] no problem at all [Thats 160 kph in your money] .... still got a bit left so 170 kph is very attainable Hope this helps Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

I am working on a plan to change alot on my Puma, this engine upgrade will be the first, then I want to remove the bulk head under the front seats to make space for more leg room in the back, then the batteries and the ECU will move to the back of the landie in the wheel arches where I will make space for them, I will fit a dubble din face radio in it. hand brake I will remove and fit (not sure yet howe but will still figure it out) a electrical operator handbrake, to make more leg room in the front. I just hate that stuped handbrake that always push into my calf. I can not believe LR after 60 years has never changed that
Thats for now the plan, then I will have a perfect Defender for me. Not sure why land Rover has never done this. Cheers Pepe 2005 Discovery 3 HSE 2007 2.4 Puma Defender 1976 series 3 with Ford V6 engine |

No need for a stupid electric handbrake: http://www.reedx.net/landrover/mods/handbrake/index.htm |

All sounds good except the electric handbrake ..... if the disco3 version is anything to go by it'll give you endless trouble!
A favourite 'mod' used to be the fitting of a RangeRover Classic handbrake lever up next to the seat .. you considered that?? Welcome to Defender2 by the way Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

No never thought of that but I like the idea, so that will be the mod then, handbrake between seat and forget the stuped electrical one then 2005 Discovery 3 HSE

Pepe,
I have a BAS remap and an Allisport intercooler. Cat is coming out end of the month when warranty expires. You are most welcome to come drive my landy to see how it drives, I'm in Gordon's Bay. ps. see this thread on 4x4community about a comparison of standard vs upgraded intercooler done yesterday in Joburg: http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/showth...amp;page=4 -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Thanks Naks, I will defently take you up on this, once I am in that woods again.
Do you perhaps have some figures, I am after some figures to of the power, torque, and top speed. Thanks Pepe 2005 Discovery 3 HSE 2007 2.4 Puma Defender 1976 series 3 with Ford V6 engine |

To be honest, I'm not too interested in figures, I was looking for a bit more voomah and to keep the EGR shut. The BAS remap did that and in the process lowered my fuel consumption as well. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

I think like the okes said on the local forum...... We all can take the cars for a dyno afterwards but there really is no need! The difference is not so minimal that you need figures to justify it. Go drive Naks' and see for yourself! It improves it so much that you wont bother with a dyno afterwards..... And since there are less traffic cops on this site compared to the local site......I will admit that I have once tested it and yes, I also did 160 odd Km/h. I was deaf for about 3 hours afterwards though..... |
