Sadly you have to be an enthusiast to accept all of the faults, mine is about to have its 3rd turbo installed, the revs increasing on gear change is something I found that my driving naturally compensated for after a few hours by backing off the throttle a split second before the gearchange, but is is still annoying when someone else drives it.
I have had ABS problems, and have asked them to look at the clutch as I was concerend that having read about other people having to have new ones it was better to be safe and sure. Overall it is a nicer drive than the old defenders, but it is a shame that the power is lacking in comaprison to a tuned TD5. 2019 MY Disco 5 HSE Lux Audi A4 Avant 3.0L TDI Quattro - WOW 2016 90 Adventure |

The only thing I miss from the TD5 is the sound of the engine, but don't miss the gearchange, misty windows, and revving it's nuts off.
I'm sure with all the problems of the 07 Defender clutch, they'll change it anyway. The problems raised with this model does paint a negative picture but unless I'd been made aware of them, would probably not have noticed. To keep things in perspective, I see this website as a useful tool to highlight and resolve potential problems at an early stage. It's still a fantastic vehicle, and you'll get problems with any vehicle, Japanese whatever! |

Couldn't agree more !! Love the sound and power of a tuned TD5. The perfect defender 2007 model , with Tuned TD5 engine Nidge. |

When I spoke to D44 at your event they mentioned it had been rotated slightly. The transfer box now hangs BELOW the chassis rails, unlike before when it was inside so to spk. The h/brake drum is also very low 110 D250 SE HT

First of all I'm that happy owner, who don't bother about quality. But whats really ennoing - its a time cosuming (waste for better word) 30th Aprl its confirmed Clutch has to be replaced. When? Garranty engeneer has no idea 'cos LR slow to supply spares to Russia (3d market after UK and US). Now dealler is trying to find the clutch at Ford!!! Good news while waiting I still ride my motorcycle but bad one its a Harley Defender 110 '07 |

08 puma 90 with 6k done ; gearbox can be a bit notchy and rattles slightly also if clutch is let in while coasting to a stand still. i some times get a clunk when changing fron 4 -5 ( Like the mainshaft R380 death clunk from my old 300tdi disco that cost me some time ago ) but not when changing gear in any other sequence. Love the car , but it does sound like a bag of bolts compared to my previous TD5. humour is that delicious perception of incongruity from a vantage point of ease and superiority...

I've just had my '05 TD5 D90's spigot bush replaced (under warranty) with a 'modified' version after having trouble changing from 1st to 2nd when cold.
I was told 'There is a problem'. (Apparently they can break up.) |

Simple fix to solve the reving, its the fuse for the trailer connector. Check all the fuses, you will find a blown one-change and youll be 100%
