United Kingdom 2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Java Black
wing top checker plate
Guys, I want to fit some black checker plate to my 2007 90 xs. There are lots of sellers on ebay and prices seem to vary tremendously with Land Rover original parts being the most expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good product at a reasonable price? Secondly, should these be fitted with a rubber mat between the plate and the wing top and thirdly what should I use for fixing? Many thanks,

Everybody I think has their own way of doing it but I'd say the most professional way would be to screw it down with something in between to protect the paint. (Even though mines riveted by previous owner) That's how I'd do it with screws.
Other members will be along shortly to tell you how they did theirs.

I got mine from First Four Offroad, its made by Mammouth and they also supply a sticky back gasket so you can stick it to the back of the checker plate before fitting it Thumbs Up Russell

Greece 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Alpine White
Mammoth with rubber foam backing, painted in body color (white).
Hex stainless steel bolt and stainless Nylstop nuts.
I filled the Hex inprint with epoxy glue, good deterrent against would be thief but still removable if needed.
