The TC system is independent front to rear axles on the earlier models, not sure if the new bosh system talks to all four wheels together. |

My friend has a 2011 110 and he said that with the diff lock open the TC system will take what all four wheels are doing into account, so not just what the other wheel on the same axle is doing. That is, if would compare the speed of the front wheels to that of the rear wheels and, if required, brake the front wheels to send torque to the back. Rather like locking the centre diff. I suppose.
I believe this was not the case with earlier models, though I have no idea what year the change took place.
