Daniele, which 100 Ah battery did you buy?
If I ever have to change it any time soon I was thinking of a Varta AGM G14 which is a 95 Ah battery. I believe they are good quality, and also would fit in the standard battery space of the Defender, so a direct replacement. But I am always open for better suggestions...... No AGM, a good AGM cost around 450€, I payed mine 120€ (with a very very good discount )
If my new battery will run for another 4 years.... costs calculation are done! with 450€ I can provide 12 years of power to my Defender Remember that a battery with a good contest (good Car charger circuit) have an average life of 3-4 years, everything more is given. I choose and Exide Premium EA1000EVO (100Ah, 1100A for start) but the EA1000 is perfect (100Ah, 900A for start). Daniele, are both those batteries direct replacement for the standard Varta battery in the Defender? I mean are they the same dimensions? Tks, Eric You never actually own a Defender. Just worth stressing this for all Defenders with a SVX style front. Daniele's suggestion really works for properly levelling the aux high beam lamps easily without having to take A-bars and the entire plastic radiator/lamps fronts off.... Had the impression from earlier responses that this was not really common knowledge yet. My aux high beam lamps for the first time in 4.5 years now are properly levelled  Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated You never actually own a Defender. Thank you! But, like you know, I installed myself the SVX style grill, so it was easy for me to understand how to ........ Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition IID Pro MV License |

Daniele, so much is clear yes, you really figured it out, and I think many of us will benefit from this. Next thing is that I will inform the head mechanic at my Land Rover dealer here in Geneva how to do this My aux high beam lamps came from the factory pointing too low. Tonight have been driving on some dark roads here and now that they are properly leveled the combination of the Speaker high beam plus the aux high beam is just fantastic No need for more than that Eric You never actually own a Defender. It is probably more of importance to those like me who have bought a SVX, ICE, X-tech,.... which have those fronts slammed on at Solihull already . In my case for sure, neither there, nor at the pre-delivery inspection at the dealer here, bothered to check proper levelling of those aux high beam lamps. You never actually own a Defender. It's sad that you feel that way Eric, I have full confidence in my alignment from the dealer I purchased from and have nothing but the upmost certainty that they will support me in any issues that may arrive if any (gulp) . Why you say that? It is a fact now that I have learned how to adjust the aux high beam lamps from Daniele, that it is clear that they were very ill regulated at the factory for starters. My LR dealer here in Geneva are probably one of the best that exists in the industry, but also they were not able to really properly level these aux high beam lamps after I asked to do so when I had the Speakers installed by them.... As said my dealer has proven to go out of their way to help when it is necessary, but some things get amiss, can happen of course. I am just restressing this solution by Daniele as can well imagine that others with a ex factory SVX, ICE, X-tech, etc. have similar issues with the aux levelling... And there is a quick and easy solution, which if you read back up the thread clearly was not in the know by others too. The good thing is that with joint forces we can learn to correct certain things ourselves You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Wow, no offence intended, from your previous post it seemed that you had lost confidence in your dealer for not being able solve your issue, the problem with writing I suppose, open to misinterpretation is nice to see you DO have confidence in them, I know quite a few who are not as happy as you am I
Indeed we have all learnt =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |
