TDCi bonnet release
Going to dealer this week for a few minor warranty issues and Q068v4. One problem is the bonnet release cable. Impossible to release again today to check oil/washers etc. Handle just pulls as far as it can go (about 150 degrees) but does not release the bonnet catch. Has already been adjusted three times in the last 18 months. Anyone else with this problem or advice I can give to the dealer for a permanent solution?

I used to have a problem opening the bonnet. I'd pull the handle all the way but it wouldn't open unless I then kneeled on the front edge of the bonnet, and then bounced about until it finally released. I thought it was the cable but it was due to go in for a service at the time, and my local independent dealer said they had seen a number of them with sticky latches. Sure enough when it came back it was nicely greased and it's worked perfectly ever since. Peter

well i had mine under-ajusted a couple of times, it always need'd pulling to its full extent to "pop" the bonnet, this would in time slip and not be able to pop, then it was over ajusted and only need'd only a slight pull to popthis then broke a connector in the cable, yes thats right the cable has a join in the middle that can fail Question fourth or fifth try and they got it right, it now works fine.

I found that the two adjustable rubber stoppers on the inside of the bonnet were sticking out too far and causing undue tension on the catch in the center. Turn them in a few turns if you get your bonnet open eventually and keep trying different lengths until it opens easy. Don't turn them in too far otherwise the bonnet will rub on the checker plate on the side fenders.
Good luck Puma 110 - gone

Thanks for your comments. Going in on Wednesday, will pass them on to the dealer. In the meantime they have ordered a replacement cable just in case.
