Far more knowledgeable people than me will I'm sure be along but apart from what you've already done, it wouldn't hurt to check for a seized turbo wastegate...
Video courtesy of IRB What I most recall from my Td5 pre remap was all the down shifts! Don't really remember the symptoms you decribe. When you say you checked the MAF, were you able to plug it into some kind of diagnostics to get live readings? Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Hi
I'm not completely sure of your description but with any performance issues , in addition to what you have checked already, it would be worth checking the condition of your intercooler hoses ( as they could collapse under pressure and restrict flow) and that your waste gate actuator is not sticking. Let us know . . . |

I found using shell v power instead of supermarket fuel made a massive difference on hills. I could accelerate up them instead of downshifting to second.

Thanks for the replies
Chris - Yeah I know its me peobably being fussy, but the TD5 90 I drove today could accelerate quite nicely with a load of logs at 70 (and mine doesnt make it to 70), and neither have a remap YET PM and TD5_90 Thanks, hadnt thought of the wastegate or the hoses, will have a check tomorrow before I fly to Scotland PM I disconnected the MAF and took it for a run, and the the loss of power was still there at 60mph, but haven't hooked it up to a reader yet. |

I quite like the zebra stipes... Although for extra speed, maybe I should drop the roof rack and lights off my TR |

Fully intend to keep this one original, hence why I havent fitted one of your DLR winch bumpers
Need to save for another one to customise, although I have a photoshop image of one with all the bits I would like fitted on 110 (although it looks surprisingly similar to Kens 110 USW ) |

Mine easily accelerates to 70mph. It will keep going, but my mechanical sympathy takes over at 80, because she is revving pretty high. I'm sure its not tuned, and mine still has the egr fitted. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

check if you have a leak in the air intake pipes or any where along the air intake
I had this before and it was due to the air box not closed completely. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island. |

Just taken it for a testdrive up the dual carriageway (on a hill) having freed the wastegate last night, and....
...it now pulls like a rocket at the top end and easliy climbs the hill at 70 without any strain (before it dropped to around 55...)!! Such an easy and quick job to fix, although getting rid of my grin may take a bit longer. Anyway, thanks again all! |
