Fly tippers are lazy scum bags!

We live in a semi rural area and going to the lock up is mainly in the countyside Thumbs Up

Went down there this afternoon, on way back about 4 hours later some scumbag had tipped two single mattresses on the verge! Now I will either have to drive pass them until the council removes them at local taxpayers expense or unload one of the trailers get it out and remove them myself!

What is the most galling part is that the local reclamation centre is less then a mile away from the dump site!

As a Mountain Biker and one who enjoys the countryside, I agree with you.

But, when you have to jump through hoops to go the tip in a van/with trailer etc. I think Councils rules fuelled this dirty crime.

On my tip runs, I have to go in Kate's Audi to the tip as my 90 won't go under the barrier.
I ride through old railway lines/ cycle ways/ canal paths etc. you would be amazed how many people chuck old mattresses etc over their own back fences ! Filth.

Couldn't agree with you more Greeni. The hight is also a really annoying issue with town car parks I find. It just seems utterly pointless to me. As for fly tipping it's a disgrace. Problem is they dump it it gets picked up they do't get caught then they dump again in a different area and so on. I sometimes wonder if it's builders occasionally as sometimes there's rubble ect and what seems to be construction orientated waste. Neutral $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

We have two tips close to us, ok two separate councils

Local one has a 2m height barrier. The staff there either opens the barrier for me or they or myself remove the cone alongside it and I drive around it. I am allowed to take a twin axle trailer in on the odd occasion without a permit! Thumbs Up I just ask them beforehand and they always agree. However I do talk to the guys there when I go in. Amazing what politeness can do!

The tip in the other local council area has no height barrier so is good Thumbs Up

Being let down left right and centre by couriers over the last few days !

I know they are under a lot of strain at this time of year but they still take full payment for a next day delivery and then .... dont !

Received a delivery today of 8 packages - only there were only two 'That's alright mate they'll be here in the next few days' FFS Evil or Very Mad

Matt - I know how you feel! Only with me it's Royal Mail and not couriers. They decide not to deliver yesterday just because they had issues with new vans or something. So they just leave it all together and then deliver next day (Today I hope) It's ridiculous because the last posting dates are no where near and by the time they get their arse into gear Christmas will be upon us. Killer90 (Chris) posted me a paint sample by first class not this Sunday but last.. Guess what nothing arrived not even now over a week later! Another item I bought off E-bay also the same with that too. Rolling Eyes $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I think our local postie has come up with a novel way to reduce his (or her) workload, which is to stuff ALL the post for the whole street through one letterbox chosen at random. The selected homeowner than has to redeliver everyone else's mail later in the evening! It's a clever system, and with about 30 houses in the road we each only have to do the job about once a month.

I don't think it is official policy, however, but a clever use of initiative by the individual postie!

picking up the refuse post earlier.

i recently cleared out a friends garden at their new home. i had a 8ft Ifor trailer on the back of my USW. the local tip was close so i thought i would pop in to drop it off prior to the 4 hr journey home.

on approach no barriers, thats good me thinks.

parked up and wandered over to the hut/office to see what the score was.

after some very friendly banter and a chat it transpires

my trailer is over 6ft and i need a permit

my vehicle is classed as commercial as the rear load area and the passenger area are separate (load guard) and also needs a permit.

assuming i had permits i could then take either the trailer in or the USW. one at a time but not both together. ie cant take two permit requiring vehicles in at once. i suppose i could push the trailer in.....

the outcome - i towed some branches and grass cuttings and bits of old shed and a few bushes 4hrs back home.......

not much of an incentive to bother going to the tip it seems. Cheers

Council tips around here seem to be squarely aimed at retired people in tiny cars taking dropping off a couple plastic bags of leaves or the odd small appliance like an iron or kettle Rolling Eyes Steve.

They don't make it easy do they. The TR90 was deemed ok once they realised it had rear windows and seats but the TR 110 DC wasn't allowed in as it was commercial.

My old hybrid SIIA was classed as a pick up and not allowed in either.

When I had the narrow track Sankey trailer that was ok as the load bed was just 6' long.

Luckily they have no problem with the 110 CSW even though it is classed as a commercial Laughing John
