You're mixing up gross and kerb weights. KW for a 90 is 1850kgs so even with a 1200kg trailer it's still nearly 500kgs in credit....

Your right bobble I said kerb when I meant GVW (MAM). It's the GVW that is used in for those without a B+E licence.
GVW for towing vehicle + MAM of trailer must be 3500kg or less. 2400+1200 = 3600 
Kerb Weight for towing vehicle must be greater than MAM of trailer. 1698 >1200 
It's really hard to take the RB1200-4 to it's full capacity. It can take 9 boats, or 10 if you put them really close at the bottom. So the must you can put on is 4x Fours 2x Eights split and a couple of doubles or singles. But is you to have this much on there won't be space of all of the blades and riggers. All in it's about 450kg of equipment. There loads of other threads on other sites detailing this. If towing a boat trailer you also need to be aware of the guidance from the association of Chief Constables relating to transport of human powered water craft. The issue with the wording on the Degraff site is the interpretation of the words
The combined weight is always assumed by the police as being the maximum mass of the car so they will always use the GVW of the towing vehicle and the MAM of the trailer in working out the "combined weight" To make it clear Degraff are 100% in their wording, it comes straight from the DoT guidance: https://www.gov.uk/towing-with-car/driving...ou-can-tow |

That's assuming you've loaded the 90 to its maximum Gross weight though. With a kerb weight of 1800 kgs, plus a 1200 kg trailer, you're still only at 3000 kgs which leaves 500 kgs before you reach the limit. Even with driver and passenger at approx 100 kgs each that's still 300 kgs in credit. If Plod want to read it as being maxed out that's fine. Then as soon as its on a weigh bridge they've got no case and I also don't totally buy it that they'd assume by default that it's at its MGW anyway. |

Bobble, the actual weight of the vehicle is not what is used to calculate what is allowed for those without a B+E licence. I wish it was but it is not.
For those with B+E, either by doing the test or by Grandfather rights the specific and actual weight of the vehicle and trailer are what is used. |

Fair point. It's only a few pages in to the Gov.uk website that they start defining MAM.
So, Degraff are potentially placing customers open wrong side of the Law? |

Yes Alex, Calshot - this was taken when I first bought her a few years ago. Looking fo a more permant mooring on the Hamble.

 When the missus realised what we paid for the caravan, we could of had a RIB she was gutted.

And the answer is... Not very hard at all!!
We did Abbey 517 5 birth single axel (to keep the wife happy) and no faff course needed!! Pics arent the best but hey..
