Hi all, I have asked this question on AULRO and now on here as my wife uses the 90 for work and it spends a lot of time in hospital car parks.
I am curious to know if the Disco 2 motion detector can be fitted to the Defender alarm and if so are the wires to attach it in the hood lining somewhere. I know in the owner’s handbook it shows it as fitted but our 90 does not have it or the backup battery pack. The harness for the battery pack is behind the left headlight but does not apperar to ever had one fitted. any help would be appreciated. Allan |

Yes the white plug is the connection for the central locking (the two larger wires) and the motion sensor the purple wire. it goes through the seat box and comes up just in front of the b pillar then routes up inside the pillar to the sensor. Jason. |

On a 90, it runs up the a pillar. You should have a connector with 6 or 5 wires. 3 of which are for the motion sensor. That's white with black, black with brown and black I believe.. The other wires go to the interior light, front.
So if yours had the full works, there will be another 3 wire from this connector to the motion sensor. Mine is a farmer spec 90 with no alarm, so I had to find all the wires, make some looms, crack open the 10as to solder the cdl relay, install the motion sensor, bonnet switch with bracket, ignition transponder coil and program the thing. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island. |

What alarm unit is it, is it the Lucas 10AS or an after market unit?

Just the standard unit but in Australia none of the Defenders seem to have had the motion detector fitted. Our 90 or our now gone 110 S.V.X. did not have them fitted but my long gone Disco 1 did.
