The winch installation looks really neat, what winch bumber is that and is it just the plastic grill you had to cut, or is there more surgery underneath..?

Is is a non aircon bumper as I wanted it tucked in. Some plastic welding on the grille made it look really tidy, however we had to modify the aircon intercooler arrangement. Next time I have the grilles off I will snap some pics of it. |

How are you planning to protect your new lights? I was just asking Brendan whether the Entreq cover would fit and no, it wouldnt.
Anyone got this grill and has light guards on them? Which ones? regards =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

It's more protection from thieves that I am worried about. A few bars in the way would do a lot aesthetically for putting them off and at least give them more of a challenge if they do decide to go at it with a screwdriver. Want to make them look like a lot of effort to steal if they are smart enough to realise there is a £1,000 worth of light in front on them and only a few screws holding them in place. They wouldn't even need to worry about the alarm going off.
Any ideas Tim et all? Really want a pair before Christmas but not for then to become someone else's Christmas present =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

Well the standard X Tec grille & lights are actually worth more than the LED lights and are held in by the few screws you mention
A new bonnet painted costs more than the lights and is held in place with a single catch Security screws, smart water there have been various options covered recently on Def2. I am yet to hear of a set being stolen - and this time three years ago you were looking at £1800 per set not £700 so you would of thought the demand is less now. In all seriousness on the glass lens units you could have them etched with the reg number of your vehicle or VIN.
I am assuming this is also possible on the PC lens units as well. |
