Software update
Hi lads. My 110 is going to the dealers in the morning for a few bits doing. 3 blown/faulty elements in the rear heated glass, water ingress,an intermittent wiper with a mind of it's own and I wanted them to investigate the scuffing sound when I switch it off. Anyway, while it's there, will they do the ecu software update as a matter of course, or do I request it?. I sometimes have a second or so delay in power when changing from 3rd to 4th gear and wondered if it might cure it?. Thanks,

Should be updated automatically but no harm to enquire, keeps them on their toes!

Yes, they should update it as matter of course (mine was) - but funny you should mention the delay going into 4th... I didn't have this until AFTER the software update - I do now!? Rolling Eyes

All else re. the update was ok - haven't noticed any performance difference but I think it runs a little quieter/smoother from cold.

I have the power delay in all gears. Almost a protection method to make sure the clutch is fully engaged before you are able to put power through it.
I think it may be linked to the hydraulic clutch pressure switch. Puma 110 - gone
Series III 1973 - going strong

A power delay to help save the clutch seems like a good idea, since the engine is so torquey that it manages to chew up gear boxes and clutches. On the other hand i bet it could get annoying when you need the power immediately. I will report on whether ours has the delay after it's back from the dealers with its new EGR valve and clutch.
