Australia 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Alpine White
gear box mounts
My car (776888) has what looks like provision for a further gearbox mount. The rear of the gearbox bellhousing is drilled & tapped, and the chassis cross-member has a bracket going up close to the bellhousing.

But there is no mount on my car using these location points.

Does anybody have such a mount fitted to their car? Perhaps mine has been left off or the use of such a mount abandoned. [see attached photo at flickr.com/quigley2009/defender puma 84]

This has come up before and the I don't think anyone actually knows what the mounting point is for but it definitely isn't used on the finished vehicle.

To Post the pic click the IMG button paste the url to the image and then click the IMG button again.

You should then end up with text like this:

Mine has nothing ether,though my first thought was that it was forgotten.Gearbox might be used in another vehicle that needs a mount there or cost cutting from factory. Puma 110 SW
