Took the 110 DCPU to the dealers today to cash it in, they offered me a real good price considering i stripped all the extras and left it as a standardish County. Things were going really well until i went in the show room.

That looks really interesting. I'd love to have a look round there but don't fancy being shot at. I've seen lots pics of that HS Trident before, it's in pretty bad shape now isn't it.

The story behind it:
Back in the early 70s Cyprus Air had 9 of these operating out of this airport (built in 1968). But when Turkey invaded the North of the island in 1974 they rapidly pushed to the airport and the UN declared it OOB. 5 of the 9 were out of Cyprus and safe, but 4 of them were damaged. Once the fighting stopped Cyprus Air requested that they could retrieve the aircraft- but when they assessed the damage they realised they couldn't afford to repair them. A deal was struck with British Airways- BA would buy 2 of them and help repair one of the Cyprus Air ones- unfortunately for the Trident in the picture it was decided all the spares would come from that one and was quite quickly stripped of anything needed/ useful. Since then (38 years) people have been stealing bits and pieces and weather has also taken its toll. Still an AWESOME part of history though Glyn |

Got back home from the hospital and just sat in it... uncomfortable but happy. Just a good feeling, like everything's right with the world Won't be driving it for a while though Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
