Sounds a bit like a cost cuting exercise? Maybe not, but it seems like the're dropping a lot of models, although perhaps this is just because they didn't sell that well.
Is the station wagon (i.e. not county or XS) going to stay the same? LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 XS SW 2.4 |

I suspect the reason is poor sales.
It took months for me to find a County Hard Top and I'd all but given up hope of finding one in a decent colour which seems to prove not many are bought in the first place. When I did find mine, I stumbled on it by accident whilst on holiday. MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |

Er No its part of the on going improvement that Land Rover have planned for 2010. In 2011 there will be the Bosh ABS improvements along with other stuff. In 2013 there will be the EU5 power train alterations. Oh and the military Defender derivative. |

2.2 engine coming too, that's for definate (little birdie from Solihull told me )
Makes me wonder why they're dropping the general TR tyre though... as good as the MTR is, a more "road biased" (likt the TR) is ideal for people who don't venture into the mud much, and the MTR might be a bit noisy and wear quicker than the TR. I've just got a set for my 110 on alloys (TR's that is), they're great for road work and gentle off road stuff, and keeps the mileage off my MT's |

Sorry for misleading you the General Grabber is not dropped the MTR is an additional option. I was just saying By By to the Grabber as I don't like it.
2.2 Puma is planed for 2012my which updates the Defender power train to comply with N1 EU5 level emissions in all markets. |

Ahhh... gotcha What don't you like about the TR? I think it's a pretty good average tyre... quiet, handles well, OK-ish in dry chalky stuff. hard wearing. The MTR does look good though |

The General Grabber is a good tyre, I think it looks crap bulging sidewalls very dated.

AndrewS
thanks for the info. are we saying as from Jan 2010 the 110xs will have 7 seats and met paint as standard? also you mention the 2.2 as part of the drive train up grade? are there other upgrades to the drive train, or just the engine? thanks |
