I now have my used EGR Gaskets up for sale on E-bay if anyone happens to be interested. But I won't be advertising them on here so I don't break site rules. Smile (Nor posting any E-bay links before anyone asks) $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Don't "used Defender gaskets" belong in specialist auctions like "used supermodel underwear" etc. Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Rolling with laughter Matt what have you been searching for. Shocked Their non perishable unlike rubber gaskets ect so thought why not might be of use to someone. When I bought my new EGR it came with new gaskets so I fitted them too but you can get the EGR on it's own so then you need the gaskets separately. Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I know I'm double-posting (sorry) but this seems relevant to both threads:
Paddocks are sending me the correct manifold gasket which I will use as a template to make a slip-in blank.
Bad photo (only one Google could find!) but looks like ss:

Looks simple enough...

Matt,

I think you are making things very difficult for yourself, more difficult than they need to be.....Robofarmer or Pete from BAS would have been my first port of call for a set of blanks.

Tell you what! I have five blanks sat somewhere in my garage and I have your address. Why don't I dig them out and send you my five blanks that fit perfectly and you can 'experiment' with them for a couple of months. Find one that suits, get a match made and send me them back when you're done.
There will only be one missing from the full set, the one I have fitted.

Let me know if that's any help. For me it would be a 'no brainer!' Will 'pm' you too. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Matt - If you really wanted one of them just for a template you could have had mine. Whistle Still K9F to the rescue. Thumbs Up CBA myself with messing about with blanks only just got my new EGR up and running so I'm leaving it alone at least for now. And as Mal has previously said things like RAI's / Snorkels can have an effect too so it would be silly for me to set up a blank now whilst a Snorkel is on the wish list. Trouble is can't decide which to get Mantec or Safari even though I've read the various threads about the subject. Leaning toward the Safari at the moment. Confused $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Corrosion resistance for fixings and bracket? Just interested to know because I hate bolt ons that then need re-painting or replacing / removing 6 months later. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Thanks Mal, thanks Steve.

Will report back with results of experiments Thumbs Up

p.s Steve - I didn't think you'd have a blank/gasket for the exhaust manifold joint as you were busy with the other end... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Have had my Mantec on 1 year and no corrosion - used ss bolts with Duralac and made sure there was butyl between the bracket and the frame (also waterproofs). Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
