I can do that anyway Wink

STG1 is just a new ECU calibration - everything else stays standard. Ideal for Defenders under warranty Whistle

STG2 - will be air intake mods and DPF off...

STG3.... more changes, but more power and torque.

STG4 - mechanical engine component changes - plus DPF off, air intake mods etc etc.

Can you put me on the list for stage 1.5?

I don't actually have my defender yet, but I know that I'm going to want the DPF out and a very conservative tune. My Travel Page

Get the spanners at the ready, the DPF is quite a fiddle to remove I found out when doing the 3.2 Conversion on my car Crying or Very sad

I thought it was an engine out job to remove the cat/DPF ? Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

"UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Here is a how-to from Landrover for those who need it, Engine lift seems to be their chosen option though I found it tight.

Nope, they do come out, but you have to lift the engine on a engine crane almost to the point of the gearbox touching the bulkhead.

Price is to be confirmed... But this is not going to be some £150 I dont really know what i'm doing type remap made by some one that actually has no experience or skills.

Proper development is not cheap (neither are the proper tools). The 2.2 tuning is just the first of a whole range of engine upgrades that will be available soon.

With a few people excluded, there are quite a few 'tuners' that use a good marketing company to cover up the fact they do not know what they are doing.... Who actually deliver next to nothing, but have nice brochures and impressive looking websites.

MPG should improve, unless you drive like you've stole it everywhere!

Hi Ian, are you going to produce a "lookalike" exhaust for when the vehicle goes back in to the dealers as putting the original down pipe on will become tiresome very quickly especially if the engine needs lifting to remove/refit etc? Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

"UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.

I can do, I already have the prototype DPF removal pipes in build.... And I could make it look like its not just a straight pipe.

Ref visiting a dealer - If you have a DPF off calibration, you will not be able to refit the DPF anyway without changing the CAL.

For higher levels of tuning, there will be a properly designed and matched exhaust system, thus the whole exhaust system will look none standard so irrelevant if the down pipe looks like a DPF or not.

Would a DPF removal be an automatic MOT failure? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender
